Definitions
IRCd: An IRC Daemon or 'IRCd' is commonly called a chat server. When running users (privately invited or otherwise) can join the server in order to chat with its participants.
Bouncer: An IRC 'Bouncer' allows a user to idle on a chat network for prolonged periods of time, perhaps while their own computer is switched off. When they reconnect to the internet they connect via the bouncer and appear on the network as they had been there all along.
Services: IRC Services aid channel users in day-to-day operations such as maintaining control of their channel. Some even tell jokes and respond to user conversation triggers!
